I quite clearly remember at around the age of 10 collecting stones that I found on pathways, fields or roadsides that I was drawn to whether it was because of their size, shape or colour. I would proudly display them on my windowsill. At the time my mother thought I was slightly strange for doing so.
Over time things have changed (some would argue I am still slightly strange) and the stones I like to collect have become more colourful and distinctive, each carrying their own vibrations. Being able to wear them on my finger where I can admire them all day is a fantastic treat.
I love the distinctiveness of a raw crystal ring – there is incredible allure in an unpolished but nonetheless striking crystal with its own unique shape, colour and sparkle. Much like every individual has their own remarkable facets so does each crystal and no two rings made are alike.
I am very happy to source a particular crystal for a client if they have a specific requirement such as colour, birthstone or for the healing properties a stone possesses to then create a one of a kind ring. I also carry a stock of rings that just might be the mini treasure you are looking for. Please do get in touch using the Contact page to discuss your requirements.
In 2015 I started to ransack my crystal stores for those stones that just won't sit well in a claw setting ring be it because of their size and weight or because they are just too smooth to be held effectively. I attempted to find a medium that would make sure these stones are safe and secure but also show them off in all their glory because quite frankly they are beautiful and deserve to be worn!
So I took to the studio and discovered the joys of clay. This medium is strong enough to hold really meaty crystals in place but still light enough to be worn comfortably. Each ring has a crystal set in clay which is wrapped around a closed sterling silver band for added strength and well, just to make it look that little bit more glam. To finish, a gloss varnish can be applied which has a glitter inclusion to give it even more zing.
Working with clay is an absolute joy - something about the tactile nature of the clay, zero limitations on how to position a crystal on the band and well, of course, using glitter.
As well as clay and silver rings I have also added clay and crystal pendants to my range using sterling silver bales which are completed with a delicate ribbon tie or alternatively you are able to use a traditional metal chain.
During 2018 resin has been introduced to my line which creates a totally unique piece of jewellery to add to your collection. Totally clear, resin shows off every facet of a particular crystal to its full potential. Added to this, resin is exceptionally tough which holds a crystal, however in your face and meaty it is, completely securely. Rather aptly the range is called Resin Rocks.
